Earlier this year, Rael Dornfest, a researcher at O'Reilly & Associates, created a great Perl script for blogging: Blosxom, which has become very popular in certain circles and has seen a small community of developers and aficionados grow up around it. I'd been experimenting with Blosxom for a while when I decided to follow in the footsteps of some others who have ported it to various languages and re-write it in PHP. Thus PHPosxom was born. I also decided to add in some new features like metadata and authors. Get more 'whys' and 'wherefores' in the PHPosxom FAQ and Full vs. Lite pages.

There are two versions of PHPosxom available for download: PHPosxom and PHPosxomLite ( See 'Related Links' below, on this page). The differences between the two are explained in depth on the Full vs. Lite page.
